CARY, N.C. — A group of Triangle ad producers were celebrating Sunday evening after their Doritos dog ad won a national competition for Frito-Lay.

The winning commercial, made by 5 Point Productions in Raleigh, aired during the first quarter of the Super Bowl.

Josh Svoboda and Nick Dimondi entered the 30-second commercial, which features a man being outsmarted by a dog for a bag of Doritos.

Fellow producer Wes Phillips watched the ad on television during a Super Bowl party at the Corner Stone Apartments in Cary.

“There is nothing that can really describe the feeling. We knew that the ad had the most star power and we are excited to watch the ad meter to see how it does,” Phillips said.

The USA Today "ad meter" results will be out Monday.

If the ad places in the top three, the producers could win $1 million. They won $50,000 from the Frito-Lay video competition.
