RALEIGH, N.C. — WRAL-TV anchors Valonda Calloway and Monica Laliberte are among five prominent local personalities pairing with professional dancers for charity.

Calloway and Laliberte are joined by Ruth Sheehan from The News and Observer, and NBC-17’s Wes Hohenstein and Penn Holderness.

The local celebs will participate Sunday, April 26 in the “Dancing Like the Stars” competition during the Southern Women’s Show at the State Fairgrounds.

The competition is based on the popular TV show "Dancing With the Stars.”

You can check out more about the participants, their professional dance partners, watch video clips and vote for your favorite online at the Bubel/Aiken Foundation Web site.

This year’s judges are Mike Morse from G105, Mark Roberts, host of WRAL’s Brain Game and Freddie-Lee Heath, president-elect of the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, P.E., Recreation and Dance.

Last year, former WRAL-TV anchor Lynda Loveland won the competition.

All proceeds from the contest benefit the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which was cofounded in 2003 by former American Idol alum and Raleigh native Clay Aiken. The nonprofit promotes the inclusion of children with disabilities in activities with children who are not disabled.
