Get a Free, Energy-Efficient Light Bulb
Progress Energy will distribute 1,000 free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) each day to State Fair attendees.
Posted — UpdatedInstalling just one compact fluorescent bulb can save more than $30 in energy costs over that bulb’s lifetime, according to ENERGY STAR, a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The company began offering a discount Oct. 1 on certain packages of energy-efficient bulbs at select Home Depot stores in the company’s service territory. Packages of two and four CFLs are priced as low as $0.99 per bulb, while supplies last.
