NC Memorial Day services dodge scattered storms
Somber events honoring America's war dead and poolside barbecues celebrating the start of summer will both dodge a chance of scattered late-day showers and storms in North Carolina.

- a wreath laying at Veteran's Memorial on the North Carolina State Capitol grounds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Morning events will likely take place under cloudy skies, but the sun will start to come out around noon, raising temperatures to around 86 degrees.
The sun's rays and humidity could spark scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening.
WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said rain chances will rise to between 30 and 40 percent late Monday, and any storms that form could dump locally heavy rain.
"Don't cancel any plans outdoors. Just have that possible shower or storm in the back of your mind," he said.
