FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two men forced their way into a store on McPherson Church Road early Monday and tied up a female employee inside, Fayetteville police said Wednesday.

The woman told investigators that she was opening the store at about 6:45 a.m. when two masked men ran toward her. She said she tried to get inside and lock the door behind her, but the men pushed their way inside.

The men then chased her to the back of the store, tied her to a storage shelf and put tape over her eyes and mouth, police said. She told investigators that at least one of the men fondled her.

It was unclear whether the men took anything from the business.

Another store employee called police.
