Employee of Fayetteville Subway shot during robbery; suspect sought

An employee of a Fayetteville Subway suffered non-life-threatening injuries late Friday after being shot during a robbery, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — An employee of a Fayetteville Subway suffered non-life-threatening injuries late Friday after being shot during a robbery, police said.

According to investigators, the employee was shot at about 10 p.m. when they exited the back door of the restaurant, at 9541 Cliffdale Road.

Police say the suspect was waiting outside the restaurant and stole the Subway's cash box after shooting the employee. The suspect, who was dressed in a dark-colored sweatshirt, a blue mask, dark pants and light-colored shoes, left the area on foot.
