Durham searches for summer camp counselors, lifeguards

Do you have a teen who needs a job this summer?

Durham Parks and Recreation will hold a job fair to showcase summer job opportunities for people interested in part-time seasonal work. It's 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 7, at the Holton Career and Resource Center, 401 N. Driver St.

The department will be recruiting for job openings such as summer camp counselors, lifeguards and outdoor recreation specialists. Many of those jobs are taken by high schoolers and college students, I'm told. Candidates must be at least 16 years old to apply.

Job candidates will get to meet with parks staff, ask questions and learn more about the city's new job application system.
