<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Superintendent Eric Becoats will remain in charge of Durham Public Schools after pulling out of the search for a new superintendent of a suburban Washington, D.C., school district.

Becoats was one of three finalists to lead Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. He notified that district's search firm Thursday that he was no longer a candidate for the job.
