The region's seasonal pools and spraygrounds are preparing for the summer. And the first to open for the season are the spraygrounds in Durham.

The spraygrounds, where hoses, tubes and other devices spray kids with water and are lots of fun, will open Monday.

Here's where you can find them:

  • Forest Hills, 1639 University Dr.
  • Edison Johnson Aquatic Center (where there is an indoor pool too), 500 W. Murray Ave.
  • East End Park and E.D. Mickle Community Center, 1200 N. Alston
Durham's outdoor pools will open June 14.
Raleigh's outdoor pools and spraygrounds begin opening May 21. The wading pool and sprayground at Millbrook Exchange Park and the wading pool and diving well at Optimist Park, both in north Raleigh, will open that weekend. Lake Johnson pool, sprayground and wading pool open May 26. The rest open during the first two weeks of June.
