DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man wanted in connection with an alleged rape of a teen last year has been arrested in Virginia, police said Thursday.

Fredy Lopez Hernandez, whose last known address was 1104 Gearwood Ave., is charged with statutory rape, taking indecent liberties with a minor, first-degree kidnapping, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sexual battery.

The charges stem from alleged February 2008 incidents at a residence on South Alston Avenue, police said.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Hernandez Wednesday in Lynchburg, Va.
