DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are trying to locate three men who have been charged with a Nov. 17 shooting at the Caroco convenience store at 702 North Alston Ave.

Three men in a burgundy car pulled up to the store at about 11:30 p.m. and fired numerous shots at the store and at people in the parking lot, according to police. No one was injured.

Four shots struck a vehicle that was occupied by two people and four bullets struck the business, breaking three windows and damaging a beer cooler.

Investigators charged Michael Raymond Kelly, 20, of East Cornwallis Road, Michael Anthony Hudson Jr., 21, of Gillette Avenue and Dezmond Ramario Williams, 22, of Anne Road in Hillsborough each with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, one count of felony conspiracy and one count of going armed to the terror of the public.

Kelly and Williams were arrested earlier this year in connection with a March 23 shooting at the Town Deli on Lawson Street that wounded a 14-year-old boy.

They were each charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

A 14-year-old male made a purchase at the store on Lawson Street around 6:45 p.m. on March 23 and was walking to his mother’s car when numerous shots were fired. Investigators said the 14-year-old was an innocent victim; the suspects were apparently shooting at two people standing near a car.

The suspects and intended victims knew each other, police said.

Williams and Kelly were also arrested on charges stemming from a March 7 shooting incident on Lynn Road near Hursey Street.

The victims told officers they were driving on Lynn Road around 3:45 p.m. when a silver 1996 Volvo went by them and then turned around.

The Volvo got behind the victims’ vehicle and a male occupant of the Volvo stood up and fired several shots out of the sunroof at the victims’ vehicle.

No one was injured, police said. Officers found the Volvo wrecked on Grant Street near Pettigrew Street a short time later.

Kelly is charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of felony conspiracy in that case. Williams is charged with felony conspiracy and felony aiding and abetting.

Williams and Hudson are out on bond awaiting trial on a 2005 murder charge. They are two of five men charged with murder in the Dec. 14, 2005 shooting death of 22-year-old Michael Bailey on Keystone Place.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams, Kelly or Hudson is asked to call Investigator A.M. Cristaldi at 560-4281, ext. 240 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200.
