Durham police seek man in power tool theft

Durham police are seeking the public's help to locate a man wanted for stealing power tools from a Lowe's Home Improvement store in July.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are seeking the public's help to locate a man wanted for stealing power tools from a Lowe's Home Improvement store in July.

Investigators say Alexey Alexandrovich Vasilyev broke two glass doors and entered the store, at 4402 Fayetteville Road, at about 3 a.m. on July 23. He left the store with several power tools.

Vasilyev, 24, of Chapel Hill, is wanted for breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and injury to real property.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
