DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police asked the public for help Tuesday in identifying the man or men responsible for two robberies of Suntrust Bank branches in the past week.

On Saturday, a man attempted to rob a Suntrust Bank branch inside the Harris Teeter at 1817 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway Saturday.

A surveillance image shows a black man in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, wearing a white baseball cap with a blue bill and a white, long-sleeved shirt.

On Tuesday morning, a second location, at 3421 N. Roxboro Road, was robbed, police said.

The suspect in that incident was described as a black man in his mid-30s, about the same size as the man in the Saturday attempt. In a surveillance image from Tuesday morning, the suspect is wearing a long-sleeved denim shirt and a light blue baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440 ext. 29330 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
