DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police released the names Friday of two men arrested in connection with a reported armed robbery near the Duke University campus.

Officers charged Quishawn Lamont Smith, 16, and Tyquon Antonio Smith, 17, both of Maple Street, with conspiracy. Quishawn Smith also faces a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The two men were arrested along with a 12-year-old boy Thursday after a brief chase.

Officers linked the red van the men were driving to the report of a robbery at an apartment complex at 3600 Tremont Drive, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.

When police stopped the van near the intersection of Science Drive and N.C. Highway 751, the occupants jumped out and ran.

A fourth suspect escaped into the woods near the R. David Thomas Executive Conference Center on Science Drive, Duke campus security said. He was still at large Thursday afternoon when police called off their search.
