The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Durham Police were investigating a single-vehicle wreck that occurred overnight in the 2100 block of Cheek Road.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Police were investigating a single-vehicle wreck that occurred overnight in the 2100 block of Cheek Road.

The driver was seriously injured in the wreck, which police described as serious. The driver's name was withheld, pending notification of family. Police have not released more details about the wreck.

Anyone with information was encouraged to call Durham Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200 or Investigator T.L. Gilliam at 919-560-4314. Callers to Crime Stoppers never have to identify themselves.
