Durham PD seek help in solving shooting case

Durham police are asking the public for information about a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon near Fayetteville Street.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking the public for information about a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon near Fayetteville Street.

Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Fayetteville Street at 2:18 p.m. and found a 49-year-old man who told them he had been shot in the leg during an altercation in the 500 block of Barton Street. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

His assailant is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium brown complexion, braids and a thin build. He fled in a 2005-2008 white Nissan Altima.
