Durham museum train strikes employee
The train at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science in Durham ran over a museum employee Friday morning, pinning his leg underneath, officials said.

The unidentified employee was hit by the Ellerbe Creek Railway, the small train that provides museum visitors with 10-minute rides around the grounds, at about 8:30 a.m. He was blowing leaves off the train tracks when he was hit, according to Sierra Jackson, spokeswoman for the Durham Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to free the man's leg, and he was taken to Durham Regional Hospital for treatment, Jackson said. His condition was unknown.
“We are deeply concerned about this morning’s incident. Right now, our primary focus is on the health of the employee involved,” museum spokeswoman Taneka Bennett said.
