DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were searching Thursday for a 20-year-old man wanted on break-in and fraud charges.

Investigators said that Ibrahim Faheem Waheed, of South Alston Street, broke into a car on Edinborough Drive and stole a stereo and wallet containing credit cards Aug. 8.

Waheed faces charges of breaking-and-entering a motor vehicle, larceny from a motor vehicle and credit-card fraud.

Anyone with information on Waheed's whereabouts was asked to contact Investigator J.S. Smith at 919-560-4415, ext. 228, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

Waheed was released from prison in March after serving nearly six months for felony breaking and entering and assault on a female, according to state Department of Correction records. He had also been sentenced for violating his probation for another breaking and entering felony and resisting an officer.
