Durham man shot, killed while driving car

Durham police Tuesday were investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed while driving his car.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police Tuesday were investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed while driving his car.

Officers responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Old Oxford Highway and Danube Lane at 5:34 p.m.

When they arrived, officers found several damaged vehicles on the roadway. Police say they believe a man was shot while driving, and his vehicle struck two other cars at the intersection.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. They withheld his name pending notification of next of kin.

The occupants of the two other vehicles were treated for minor injuries.
