BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police arrested a Durham man on Saturday in connection with three scrap yard larcenies.

Travis Otis Stephens, 50, of 1723 Alston St., faces multiple counts of trespassing, felony larceny and injury to real property and has also been charged with possession of burglary tools and driving with a revoked license. He was held at the Alamance County jail on Saturday under a $56,000 bond.

Stephens was stopped in connection with three separate larcenies occurring between Dec. 17 and Dec. 20 at two Burlington scrap yards resulting in over $7,000 in losses, investigators said.

Stephens was in possession of a duffle bag containing bolt cutters and gloves, and miscellaneous pieces of scrap metal were found in his Ford F-150 when he was pulled over, police said.
