Durham driver killed, passengers injured in shooting

A 22-year-old Durham man was shot to death while driving early Sunday on Holloway Street near Rochelle Street, according to police.

DURHAM, N.C. — A 22-year-old Durham man was shot to death while driving early Sunday on Holloway Street near Rochelle Street, according to police.

Jonathan McClain was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men riding in his car were also shot and were expected to survive. Their names were not released.

Police say people in another vehicle fired the shots around 2:45 a.m. Investigators said the shootings did not appear to be random, but they did not have any descriptions of the shooters or the vehicle.
