Duke Medicine's Teer House has some free events in July that will appeal to parents and families.

Here's what's scheduled:

  • 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., July 11: Mealtime Strategies for Selective Eating and Food Phobias. Explore these eating issues followed by helpful tips and support for patients and families. Class is targeted to patients ages 6 through adult. Children who attend must be accompanied by an adult. Led by Virginia Covington, MSW, P-LCSW
  • 10 a.m. to noon, July 21: Active Kids: Getting A Daily Dose of Fun. Learn tips, tools, and toys to help kids (and families) incorporate physical activity with healthy benefits. Kids and parents welcome. Come prepared to have fun and move! Led by Kim McNally, EdD candidate, ACSM Health Fitness Specialist/Wellness Coach
  • 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., July 26: Dogs and Storks. Get tips on positive and practical solutions families can implement to help ease into life with dogs and baby. Led by Clare Reece-Glore.
