Update: This event has been canceled because of the rainy forecast.
Fox 50 Family Fest and the Great American Tobacco Duck Race is this Saturday at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham.

It runs noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, and features all sorts of fun and free activities for kids and families.

The afternoon includes crafts; live animals; visits with mascots and popular princess characters; games led by the YMCA; a bounce house; face painting; and performances by the Bouncing Bulldogs jump rope team (which always is amazing to watch!). And there is this opportunity for some classic photo opportunities: A baby crawling contest.

The centerpiece is the Great American Tobacco Duck Race when hundreds of sometimes decorated rubber duckies are released into the creek that runs through the campus. You can buy a duck and compete for a variety of prizes. The event also raises money for a local charity. This year it's the Ronald McDonald Houses in Durham and Raleigh.

There's still time to sign up to participate in the Great American Duck Race. This is a fun event!
