FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman completing her driving test Wednesday plowed a car into the front of a Division of Motor Vehicles office in Fayetteville, police said.

Annie Gore, 77, said she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as she pulled into a parking space outside the DMV office at 841 Elm St. at about noon. Her 2008 Acura crashed into the front of the building, causing about $5,000 in damage, police said.

Several people were inside the DMV office at the time, and four people were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

No charges have yet been filed in the case.

Until repairs can be made to the building, people needing DMV services are advised to use the office at 2439 Gillespie St.
