The dress is an eternal fixture in our closets, yet many of us relegate it to special occasions. To do so is to ignore the true versatility and functionality of the dress. Most dresses, at least. Sure, some are meant to be worn only on special occasions when we put our hair up and pay a bit more attention to our make up. But many dresses work well for daytime and offer an often overlooked alternative to jeans and a tee.

This spring, dresses are everywhere and there have never been so many great options to choose from! Whether you favor just at the knee or maxi in length, there is a style that’s right for you. From cotton jersey dresses to sophisticated twill shirt dresses, a great day dress can help to streamline your morning routine and have you out the door in a flash, looking chic and pulled together. What’s their secret?

For one, there’s no coordination necessary. It’s just a dress, not a top and bottom, so there’s no time spent wondering if it ‘goes’.

Accessorizing a dress is a piece of cake. Slip on a cute pair of flats or sandals, grab your favorite jewelry and your handbag and you’re off.

Changing the look of a dress is as easy as adding a jacket or cardigan and opting for a new pair of shoes.

Opt for a dress that hovers around the kneecap for best length, and waist definition is a plus. You don’t want to get lost in a tent.

Never underestimate the power of the dress to leave you looking sleek and chic. Many women prefer a simple knit dress to sloppy sweats because it’s just as comfy yet looks infinitely more chic.

When shopping for a dress, opt for one in a solid color that can be dressed up and dressed down for the ultimate in versatility.

So wear a dress and let your ladylike side shine!
