DPAC attendance ranks in top five in country

For the fifth year in a row, the DPAC has placed in the top five theaters for attendance in the U.S., according to trade magazines Pollstar, Billboard and Venues Today. The DPAc was compared against other venues of its size and type across the country. 

During 2014, the DPAC hosted 412,000 guests and a record 93 sellout performances. 

"It’s always an honor to be mentioned in tandem with some of America’s most iconic venues,” DPAC general manager Bob Klaus said in statement. "Our vision is simply to be our guests’ favorite place for live entertainment. Everything we do, from booking the biggest Broadway, concerts and comedy shows, to welcoming every guest with our famous red carpet hospitality, is done with the guest in mind.”

Drawing the highest attendance were multi-week sellout Broadway shows "The Book of Mormon" and "The Phantom of the Opera," which saw nearly 85,000 guests. 

Top concert included classic rockers Ringo Starr and Crosby, Stills & Nash, R&B superstars Patti LaBelle and Maxwell, international artists like Celtic Woman and Susan Boyle, plus the world-renowned American Dance Festival.

Comedy was also a big draw at the DPAC with sellout performances from Chelsea Handler, Dave Chappelle and John Oliver.
