Downed utility pole closes Franklin Street

East Franklin Street was closed for a few hours Tuesday after a vehicle knocked down a utility pole, police said.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — East Franklin Street was closed for a few hours Tuesday after a vehicle knocked down a utility pole, police said.

The street was closed to through traffic between Boundary Avenue and Glendale Drive from noon to about 4 p.m., allowing crews to replace the downed pole.

Police said the one-car wreck caused no serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
