Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts will square off in a special program for families at the Raleigh City Museum next month.

The Fabulous World of Doughnuts! is at 2 p.m. June 12 at the museum at 220 Fayetteville St. in downtown Raleigh. The program focuses on everything doughnut, including what in the world is shaped like a doughnut and crazy doughnut designs and flavors.

You'll learn how major doughnut companies got their start and some fun facts about doughnuts too. Kids also can create and name their own doughnut. And, of course, there will be a Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts blind taste test.

The program is free and open to the public.

But after typing "doughnut" so many times, I'm thinking a lemon-filled from Dunkin has my name on it about now. Yes ... I said it. I'm a Dunkin lover.

For more information about the program, check the museum's website.
