BAHAMA, N.C. — A dog that disappeared after a residential break-in earlier this week was reunited Friday with her owner, Durham County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies released a picture of Bella, a black Yorkie-poo, early Friday and asked the public for help in finding her. The dog went missing after the break-in Wednesday on Pat Tilley Road near Bahama. Deputies said they didn’t know whether the dog had been stolen or ran off after a door was broken.

A county animal services employee recognized the photo Friday and realized Bella had been picked up earlier in the week.

Sheriff Capt. Don Baker said Bella was reunited with her owners.
