Although the State Fair will be in full swing this weekend, there are plenty of other events going on in the Triangle that can satisfy your food cravings.

Dinner in the Village

Dinner in the Village
On Saturday, our own David Crabtree hosts Dinner in the Village at Cameron Village in Raleigh. Dine under the stars with friends (you can bring your own meal or purchase dinner from participating restaurants). There will be awards given to the best decorated tables, including Best in Show (Most Original), Top Dog (Most Elegant), Man's Best Friend (Most Colorful) and Tailwagger (Best Dog Theme). Proceeds benefit Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that trains dogs to be companions. A table for eight costs $200, and dinner starts at 6 p.m.

Paws for Life Road Race and Dog Walk

There's more canine fun this Saturday with the Paws for Life 5K Road Race and One Mile Dog Walk. The race starts at 8 a.m. at the Wake Forest College Birthplace. All participants in the 5K race receive a t-shirt, a gift bag, a dog bandanna and entry into a raffle for great prizes. Registration is now $25 for the 5K and $20 for the dog walk. All proceeds support the Franklin County Humane Society and its foster and low cost spay and neuter programs.

Farm to Table

A very special "Farm to Table" (literally!) event hosted at The Oxford, featuring fresh Fall crops from Raleigh City Farm. The menu is an extraordinary collaboration between Executive Chef Chris Hill and the farmers of RCF. All proceeds from the dinner tickets go to RCF to continue their mission of growing food and sparking imaginations about agriculture in the city. We are closing down the restaurant for this event to show our support for this cause and to celebrate Raleigh City Farm's continued success. Please join us by dining and experiencing this one night only menu! (Picture from Facebook)
The Oxford is hosting the Farm to Table fundraiser dinner on Sunday, which features locally grown produce from Raleigh City Farm. Tickets are $85, and all proceeds will go back to Raleigh City Farm to continue their mission of fostering agriculture in the city. Champagne starts flowing at 6:30 p.m., and dinner begins at 7.

Hook & Vine

Dock to Door Seafood and The Wine Feed are pairing up for the Hook & Vine festival this Sunday. Local restaurants and companies will present guests with five seafood courses paired with expertly selected wines. Tickets are $30 or $25 for two. The meal starts at 4 p.m. at The Wine Feed in Raleigh.
