Deputy responds to burglar alarm, finds suspect inside
A Raeford man was arrested Monday after a Hoke County sheriff's deputy responded to a burglar alarm at a home said he found the suspect inside.

Patrol Sgt. G. Blanco said he went to the home in the 200 block of Crescent Drive about 9:30 a.m. after the home’s alarm system activated. Blanco found the rear glass door shattered and called for back-up.
Moments later, Blanco said, the burglar inside the home walked to the back door. Blanco took the man into custody, and the burglar told him there was someone else inside and weapons in the residence.
The back-up team arrived and searched the house. Neither weapons nor another suspect were found, but the officers discovered the home’s electrical power meter had been removed.
Deputies said property stolen from the home was found at two neighboring homes. One of those neighboring homes belongs to a relative of the suspect, who was identified as Lamont Montrell Hines, 27, of 431 Bridges Road.
Hines was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon and injuring utility wires or fixtures.
He was held on a $50,000 bond.
Deputies said Hines confessed to the crime. The investigation is continuing.
