Deputies: Man assaulted wife, tried to set fire to house

Hoke County sheriff's deputies arrested a Raeford man Tuesday they assaulted his wife and tried to set fire to their house.

RAEFORD, N.C. — Hoke County sheriff's deputies arrested a Raeford man Tuesday they say assaulted his wife and tried to set their house on fire.

Deputies were called out to a domestic incident at 106 Columbia Court. They said they found that Michael Chang, 43, had sprayed lighter fluid in the living room and physically assaulted his wife.

Chang was arrested on charges of felony first-degree attempted arson and assault on a female. He was being held in the Hoke County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
