Posted — UpdatedPreston Shadrack Mayo, 30, was taken into custody. His exact charges were not released.
Deputies went to the home around 3:30 p.m. to arrest Mayo on assault on a female charges from another county, authorities said. When they arrived, they found meth residue on him and got a warrant to search his trailer, where they found unknown quantities of the drug and the chemicals used to make it.
The sheriff's office had received complaints about activity at the home before, including reports of meth production.
"This is a known location," said Capt. Alex Fish. "Today we got an opportunity to lay hands on him because of that warrant, and it worked out good for us."
Authorities remained at the scene as of 11 p.m. dealing with clean-up of the hazardous materials used to manufacture the drug.
