Booth Amphitheatre has moved the date for its final Tuesdays for Tots program to better handle the crowds that have flocked to this popular spring and summer event.

The final program was planned for this Tuesday. It's been moved to 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30.

The Cary venue launched the free program in May. It's been held on the first Tuesday of each month. But overflow crowds have forced the amphitheater to search for alternative parking arrangements for the people who have come in to enjoy free entertainment and activities. While there's no age limit for the program, it's designed for younger children.

“Those who know our venue understand we share a parking lot with neighboring businesses during the week," said Becky Colwell, the amphitheatre's general manager, in a press release. "The response to this event has far surpassed our wildest expectations and to that end we’ve found it’s been challenging for our guests with young children to readily find parking. Moving the final event to a Sunday will make it easier for parents to gain easy and safe access to the festivities.”

The Tuesdays for Tots program will be combined with the "It's A Small World Celebration" on Aug. 30 that's sponsored by Kindervillage. The evening includes performances from area cultural groups representing countries all over the world, an instrument petting zoo, craft stations, face painting and more. Admission is free. Some activities may have a small fee.
