RALEIGH, N.C. — Rain will continue to move out of the area Friday night, allowing for more pleasant conditions for the first full day of the weekend.

Overnight lows will drop into the 40s, but bright sunshine will make its return Saturday morning.

"Saturday morning will start cool with temperatures in the low 50s," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said. "The high pressure will move in and we will wake up with sun."

Unlike last weekend, when rain kept temperatures in the 50s both days, mostly sunny skies will warm the Triangle into the low 70s on Saturday and close to 80 on Sunday.

"We do have the chance for a spotty shower on Saturday afternoon as clouds move into the area after lunchtime," Maze said.

Sunday, however, will boast party cloudy skies and much warmer temperatures.

"Our atmosphere will dry out, so the result will be less cloud cover," Maze said. "The high pressure will do a great job keeping us dry and warming us up."

The warm, dry weather will then stretch into much of next week, he said.
