Cumberland teen killed when van hits his dirt bike
A 16-year-old died late Tuesday when a Chevrolet work van hit his dirt bike on U.S. Highway 301 near Hope Mills, authorities said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 16-year-old died late Tuesday when a Chevrolet work van hit his dirt bike on U.S. Highway 301 near Hope Mills, authorities said.
Dion McNair was riding along U.S. 301 at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and tried to cross the highway near Snow Hill Road when he was struck, according to the State Highway Patrol.
McNair died several hours later at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The driver of the van, Aimee Smith, was charged with driving with a revoked license, but troopers said she wouldn't be charged in McNair's death.
