FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies were searching an area along the Cape Fear River on Tuesday for a man who has been missing since Sunday.

Joey Glenn Von Cannon, 50, didn't return home after loading a trailer and jet ski on to the back of his vehicle, with plans to spend the afternoon on the river, authorities said.

Late Sunday, Von Cannon’s vehicle was found at a boat ramp off the 4100 block of Chipstead Drive. His jet ski was located about a quarter-mile downriver from where the vehicle was found.

Along with deputies, K-9 officers and members of the Dive, Search and Rescue Team, have been looking for Von Cannon since Sunday.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500 or dial 911 for immediate assistance.
