Crew that damaged Glenwood South bar followed protocol
Crews demolishing an office building on Glenwood Avenue Tuesday morning damaged C. Grace Cocktail Bar, a neighboring jazz bar popular in the Glenwood South district.

No one was injured.
"Sometimes, things like this happen," Curt Willis, Raleigh's deputy director of inspections, said Wednesday, noting the company, EHG LLC, had proper work permits.
In a statement, also on Wednesday, the company said it encountered blowback of debris onto C. Grace's roof.
"We immediately dispatched additional resources, including third-party safety personnel and engineering support, to investigate the scene to ensure our workers' safety and that of any others within the proximity of the project area," EHG spokeswoman Amanda Romano said.
She added:
"EHG crews have secured the site and are working on clean up and assessment for future remediation. EHG is committed to abiding by the highest safety standards to ensure the well-being of our workers, the public and any others within the project area."
C. Grace, meanwhile, remains closed. The bar's owner said Tuesday that it could possibly reopen by the weekend.
