Creedmoor cancels boil-water advisory

The thunderstorms that raked the Triangle area late Tuesday knocked out power to the pumps in Creedmoor's water system, prompting city officials to issue an advisory Wednesday for customers to boil their water.

CREEDMOOR, N.C. — Officials on Thursday canceled a boil-water advisory for customers of the Creedmoor water system.

The advisory was issued Wednesday afternoon because storms had knocked out power to the pumps in the water distribution system late Tuesday, and officials feared the low pressure increased the potential for bacteria to get into the local water.

Tests have confirmed that there was no contamination in the water.
