Counterfeit goods seized at liquidation sale
Agents with the North Carolina Secretary of State's Office and Durham County ABC Law Enforcement on Friday seized millions of dollars in counterfeit goods at a massive liquidation sale in Durham, officials said Monday.

Najar, 38, of California, were charged with felony counts of criminal use of a counterfeit trademark and conspiracy to possess and sell counterfeit goods. The event manager of the liquidation sale, Viet Duc Pham, 28, of Pennsylvania, was also charged with conspiracy to sell and deliver counterfeit goods.
The goods, which included fake Nintendo video games, DVDs and designer colognes and perfumes, had an estimated retail and lost tax value of $3.4 million, officials said.
“This was a particularly blatant case of vendors coming in and selling counterfeit wares at a highly publicized liquidation sale. We have to send a clear message that this is illegal activity, and it will not be tolerated in North Carolina,” Secretary of State Elaine Marshall said in a statement.
