PITTSBORO, N.C. — Investigators released composite sketches of two people wanted for a March 9 shooting on a Chatham County road.

A man picked up a female disabled motorist at the intersection of N.C. Highway 751 and U.S. Highway 64, and after dropping her off at her vehicle at White Oak Creek, another man appeared from behind the vehicle, displayed a firearm and demanded money, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim was shot after an altercation with the man, deputies said.

The male suspect is described as a white male, late 20’s to early 30’s, with dark hair, brown eyes and missing a front right tooth. He could possibly have injuries to his face and forehead, deputies said.

Investigators could not provide a detailed description of the female suspect.

Both suspects left the area in a black late 80s to early 90s Ford Bronco II, authorities said.
