Clemmons soldier killed in Afghanistan

Spc. Jacob C. Carroll, 20, of Clemmons, N.C., died in Afghanistan Nov. 13, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.

CLEMMONS, N.C. — Spc. Jacob C. Carroll, 20, of Clemmons, died in Afghanistan Nov. 13, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.

Carroll was one of three members of the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Fort Campbell, Ky., killed by a suicide bomber in Kandahar.

Staff Sgt. Juan L. Rivadeneira, 27, was from Davie, Fla.; Cpl. Jacob R. Carver, 20, was from Freeman, Mo.
