Clayton home burns again; arson suspected

Firefighters extinguished a small fire inside a house at 12 Cameo Court at 8:10 a.m., authorities said. The home, which is under construction and has never been occupied, was set on fire on Oct. 31, and a preliminary investigation indicates the latest fire might also have been set, authorities said.

CLAYTON, N.C. — State and local authorities in Clayton were investigating a suspicious fire Tuesday.

Firefighters extinguished a small fire inside a house at 12 Cameo Court at 8:10 a.m., authorities said. The home, which is under construction and has never been occupied, was set on fire on Oct. 31, and a preliminary investigation indicates the latest fire might also have been set, authorities said.

No estimate of damages is available since the structure had been more severely damaged in the October fire and no repairs had begun as of yet, authorities said.
