FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Christmas tree pickup begins Monday for Fayetteville residents and ends Jan. 9

Residents should place their trees – stripped of lights, stands and trimmings – at the curbside to be included in the special collection, the city said Friday.

There is also a drop-off at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens on U.S. Highway 301 North. Anyone who misses the pickup or lives outside the city can drop off a tree there any day before Jan. 10.

The trees are used for mulch on woodland paths and flowerbeds at the garden.
