In 1937, during the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina in Wilmington, a committee was formed to meet with the leadership of other denominations for the express purpose of forming an interdenominational, statewide organization that could effectively address the state’s alcohol policy. Thus was formed The Allied Church League. More here.
