Chickens spilled onto a Chatham County road Friday morning, detouring traffic through rush hour.
A truck carrying almost 3,000 live chickens overturned on Elmer Moore Road at Ike Brooks Road just before 6 a.m., the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
Ike Brooks Road was closed for cleanup and roundup until after 10 a.m.
The driver, whose name was not released, was not injured. He told troopers that he was able to re-capture most of the chickens and that none were injured.
