Chatham County teens arrested in connection with home invasion

Two Chatham County teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection with a home invasion at a house on Dave McCracken Road, authorities with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office.

SILER CITY, N.C. — Two Chatham County teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection with a home invasion at a house on Dave McCracken Road, authorities with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office. 

Investigators say Tanner Kyle Morgan, 19, of Siler City, and Austin Terrell Savage, 18, of Pittsboro, were two of four men that forced their way into a home at 858 Dave McCracken Road around 9 p.m. Friday. One man, armed with a shotgun, tied the homeowner up with duct tape and stole undisclosed items, police said.

Morgan and Savage were arrested Saturday morning in connection with the home invasion and charged with felonious second-degree burglary, felonious second-degree kidnapping and felonious robbery with a deadly weapon.

Both teens were under a $5,000 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro March 5. 

Detectives were still looking Saturday for two other men believed to be involved with the incident. Anyone with information should contact the Chatham County Sheriff's Office at 919-545-8124.
