Chapel Hill police seek help in counterfeit check fraud

Chapel Hill police are searching for a man suspected of counterfeit crimes in the town.

Chapel Hill police are searching for a man suspected of counterfeit crimes in the town.

The man most passed a fraudulent check at the BB&T branch on East Rosemary Street on Nov. 2, police said. Bank surveillance captured him on video.

Anyone with information on the man is asked to call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.
