It's a drive, but if you're up for one, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad will host the Peanuts Easter Beagle Express on Easter weekend.

Trains will depart from a depot in Bryson City, which is about five hours from Raleigh, on April 6 and April 7. Tickets for adults start at $49. Kids ages 2 to 12 are $29. Tots ages 23 months and younger ride for free. The train will travel along the Tuckasegee River into the town of Dillsboro, N.C., for the 90-minute layover.

Passengers will join Snoopy, Lucy, Charlie Brown and the Easter Bunny. Festivities during the layover include crafts, coloring sheets, temporary tattoos, live music, snacks with Snoopy and more. There will be an ongoing Easter egg hunt with special prizes and lots of candy.

The Smoky Mountain Trains Museum also is nearby, featuring one of the largest collections of Lionel Trains in the country.

Advance tickets are required as seating is limited. For details and to buy tickets, go to the Great Smoky Mountain Railway's website.
