CARY, N.C. — Apparently the Triangle-area isn't ready for another slip-and-slide event.
Slide Fest which was slated for WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary on Sunday has been canceled.

"Due to last minute permit hurdles and restrictions placed on both Slide Fest and WakeMed Soccer Park, we have had to cancel/postpone the event for this weekend. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused and we look forward to planning an even bigger and better event in the future," organizers said in a message posted on the event's website.

If you already purchased tickets, Slide Fest has posted information about refunds on its website.

Slide Fest is planning an event in Wilmington on Sept. 20. Another event is planned in Fayetteville, but the date has not yet been announced.

This cancelation comes after Slide the City Raleigh took over Glenwood South in Raleigh in May. Thousands attended the sold out event, but many complained that they weren't able to slide multiple times, despite paying for the chance to do so. Large crowds and the logistics, including a not angled enough sliding surface, left many unhappy.

Slide the City had planned to return to Raleigh in July but opted to cancel the date.
